Faith Is a Gift of God

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of ourselves: it is the gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).

All Things Are of God

“… He does according to His will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay His hand, or say unto Him, ‘What are You doing?’ (Daniel 4:35).

For of Him, and through Him, and to Him, are all things: to Whom be glory for ever. Amen” (Romans 11:36).

In Whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him Who works all things after the counsel of His Own will (Ephesians 1:11).

God Is the Source of Faith in Believers

For unto you it is given in the behalf of Christ, not only to believe on Him, but also to suffer for His sake (Philippians 1:29).

For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).

For by grace are you saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).

God Is the Source of the Current Unbelief in Unbelievers

Therefore has He mercy on whom He will have mercy, and whom He will He hardens (Romans 9:18).

God has given them the spirit of slumber, eyes that they should not see, and ears that they should not hear (Romans 11:8).

For God has concluded them all in unbelief, that He might have mercy upon all (Romans 11:32).

God Will Be the Source of Faith in All

According as God has dealt to every man the measure of faith (Romans 12:3).

… He has given assurance [translated as “faith” in other KJV passages] unto all men, in that He has raised Him from the dead (Acts 17:31).

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow … And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:10-11);

No man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Spirit (I Corinthians 12:3).

  1. Laura Johnston Says:

This is such a difficult concept for the individual to grasp on so many levels, whether he has a fundamental “Christian” belief system or some other deity worship system on board. Why? People are naturally egocentric. They all believe, down to the last man, that they are “good” or “bad” of their own accord. And they believe this without realizing that this too, is not out of them. What staggering relief it is to behold the revelation of God’s soverienty, to fully grasp all that this entails and the ways in which this impacts one’s own individual life. Thank God for His grace and light!
