To know Him, and the power of His rising again, and the fellowship of His sufferings, conforming to His death (Philippians 3:10).
The knowledge of Christ is especially extended to His sufferings and death, and to His resurrection. There is no reference whatever to His life and ministry in the land as a Servant of the Circumcision, which is knowing Christ after the flesh, which Paul repudiated (II Corinthians 5:16). Our vital connection with God’s Anointed does not commence until His crucifixion, and associates us with His resurrection and ascension.
