Dad’s Representatives

I read a really bad point of doctrine recently. It stated basically that Jesus’ performing of miracles, such as control over the natural elements and raising people from the dead, proved that He was/is God. Of course, by that same reasoning, the 12 apostles and Paul also were God. What a terrible thought process such a teaching is. The issue involved is one of representation: when a father sends out his son to conduct his business, he is his dad’s representative with all of the authority to transact and conclude such business. Just so, as Jesus was Dad’s representative to Israel, and the apostles were representatives of Christ, they too had the authority to conduct Dad’s business with the favored nation, and as the Body of Christ one day will go forth with that same power and authority as Dad’s representatives to conduct His business with the celestial beings.

Conduits of His Life

In Him we live, and move, and have our being (Acts 17:28).

Over long, steady periods, God cultivates in the believer a responsive relationship; one of intimate activation and conscious participation in the Divine will, decree and course, not only of the ages, but in the details of our lives and those who interact with them. For, God is as designed and precise in His planning and executing of our lives as He is in His planning and executing of the ages.

By growth in and realization of Him, we become aware of His hand in every detail of our lives and willing servants of His. He generates in us an eagerness to embrace our role as the conduits of His life.
